I'm still around

Gosh, I did not realize that I have not posted in a very long time....that will change now. I have started a new medium, scratchart and am loving it. Here are two of my first attempts...have a lot to learn.....and don't worry I am not giving up pastels, just branching out some.

Hi Piper - I can't believe those are scratchart pictures! They are beautiful! Are they colored underneath the coating? I just bought two pices of scratchboard - one is gold underneath and the other is white. I haven't tried it yet (just like I haven't tried the pastel paper yet!) I've been taking, first a watercolor class, and now a mixed media class - learing about collage, and using all sorts of mediums on one painting - what fun! I'm wondering if you might be interested in taking part in our Southwest Artisans Cooperative Art Marketplace - which is on October 13th and 14th at the Laughlin Ranch. They changed rooms on us: we were originally scheduled for the building right across from the restaurant which would comfortably hold 9-10 artists. Instead, they decided to move us to the banquet room which is a bit bigger, so we are now looking for 3 or 4 more artists to fill the room. You'd be welcome to join us - there is a $60 entry fee and 15% commission and you get a 10'x10' area with a table. Hours are: Sat-10am-8pm and Sun 10am-4pm. We've been advertising pretty heavily in the papers, the web, and around town so we are planning on a pretty good turn out. Feel free to ask your fellow artists if they may be interested. The only medium we aren't taking is jewelry (we have five!) Let me know - Oh, there is an art show on October 6th and 7th at the Colorado River Museum (on the corner of Hwy 95 and 68) right next to the Laughlin Bridge in case you are interested. Talk to you later - Lessandra
