On the Evening Watch

Another animal done on La Carte paper, (I have been using this type of paper since the summer) which I am really starting to enjoy using. I had a fun time with the fur on this jackrabbit and a blast doing the background. Would make a cute little postcard.

Quiet Moments

This summer we were able to visit the old mission at San Juan Capistrano, what a beautiful peaceful place. I remember visiting the mission as a child. I have several great photos to paint from thanks again to Stan.

Attitude in the West

I entered my first juried show this week, The Black Mountain Fine Arts Show at Laughlin Ranch in Bullhead City, Arizona. I am really quite delighted that the rooster won Best of Show. Sorry for the poor photo of the rooster, there was quite a bit of light coming from outside. The painting also sold. I also won second place for "Lazy Afternoon" my friend, Merethe's cat. Lucas, the cat also won first place last month at our county fair. You can find him in an earlier entry.
Stan matted and framed both paintings so he had a hand in this also.

Morning Light

You might remember this one from this summer, it was one that I started and just could not get it to work for me, so, after painting it in my head for the last three months I decided to try it again.
My friends on vpon, Donna and Susan, really helped in the last touches, giving me the direction I needed.
Stan is working on the framing now, we do have it matted.
thanks to Gloria for the reference and to Diana who encourages me everyday in so many different ways.
And special thanks to Stan, who has to take a hundred photos of my work, we make a pretty good team.
